Who are we?

Established in 2012, ASA! Kelenya (Highlife Massive) is the official performing company of ASA! Enterprises- the health and fitness company that brought you one of the first African dance fitness programs.  Staged to the latest African tunes,  ASA! Kelenya, under founder and artistic director, Akosua Akoto, presents a unique style that fuses traditional African movements with the latest dances of Ndobolo, Azonto, Akayida, and Afrobeat(s).

 

The technique behind each choreography is adorned with the distinct flair of each of Kenlenya’s signature costumes and dynamic performers. Representing the link between African tradition and the latest trends, every ASA! Kelenya appearance is a tantalizing showcase African music, dance, and fashion.

ASA! Kelenya has performed at numerous venues including the Smithsonian Museum of Art, Essence Fest, Panafest, Fest Africa, The Baltimore Museum of Art, Dance Place New Releases Concert, African Fashion Week, Antigua Carnival, Voice of America: French to Africa, to name a few!

We have been honored to share the stage with amazing  artists including but not limited to Estelle, Wale, Machel Mantano, Majah Hype, Fally Ipupa, Iyanya, and Akua Allrich.
